Riding is better with people nearby
Beyond the Yard helps horse riders find compatible people close enough to actually meet - then organise a hack, ask a local question, pass on tack that no longer fits, and hear about shows and clinics worth turning up to.
What you can do
Find riders near you
Tell us roughly where you are and what you enjoy - hacking out, schooling, endurance, a first season back after a break. You will see riders close enough to meet, not a feed of strangers three counties away.
Organise a hack without losing the details
Set a time, a meeting point and who is coming, so nobody is left scrolling back through a long message thread to find where everyone is supposed to be. Organisers approve who joins.
Ask the people who know the area
Which farrier travels out this way, is that bridleway passable after rain, who does a sensible saddle fitting. Local questions, answered by people who ride the same lanes - and kept where the next person can find them.
Buy and sell locally
Classified listings for tack, rugs, trailers and the rest, arranged directly between people nearby. We are not a shop: there is no checkout, no payment handling and no delivery - you agree that between yourselves.
Find events worth going to
Shows, clinics and arena events near you, with a clear indication of how to attend. Saying you are going here is a social RSVP, not a booking.
Where we are up to
Beyond the Yard is in closed testing with a small group of riders in one UK region. It is not yet available to download, and this page will say so plainly until it is.
If you would like to hear when it opens up, or you ride in the pilot region and want to take part, get in touch.
A few honest caveats
We do not verify riders' experience, qualifications, or whether a horse is suitable for a particular ride. We do not check that a route is safe or that an event is really happening. That judgement stays with you, as it would at any yard.
Beyond the Yard is for adults. You need to be 18 or over to have an account.
